What does EcoToken actually do?+
EcoToken rewrites your AI prompts to use fewer tokens and require fewer follow-up iterations. It also logs every optimization run so you can see the exact dollar + time savings in the Library — priced against whichever AI model you actually used.
Does it work with GPT-4o, Gemini, and other non-Claude models?+
Yes. The optimized prompt is plain text — paste it into ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude.ai, Cursor, or any other AI tool you use. EcoToken's billing only covers the optimization step on our servers; downstream AI calls happen on whatever AI account you already have.
Why is the BYO plan Anthropic-only if the optimized prompt works anywhere?+
The BYO plan is specifically about whose Anthropic account pays for the OPTIMIZATION call (which runs on Claude Haiku under the hood). Anthropic keys are free to create and bill per-token — typically under $0.01 per EcoForge run. Once you have the optimized prompt, use it with any AI provider you like.
How does per-project calibration work?+
Each project can hold a handful of (input tokens, output tokens) samples from prompts you actually ran. EcoToken fits a log-linear curve across those samples to estimate output tokens for any future prompt size in that project. It takes 3-5 minutes to calibrate per project and typically makes your savings numbers 3-5× more accurate.
Will my prompt text be used to train AI models?+
No. We forward your prompt to Anthropic's API only to generate the optimized version you requested; we never use it to train any model, and our Terms of Service explicitly prohibit selling or sharing your content with third parties.
How accurate are the savings numbers?+
They're best-effort estimates, not guarantees. Dollar savings come from each record's actual target model and its Anthropic/OpenAI pricing. Token savings use a 2.5× iteration multiplier (conservative default — unoptimized prompts typically need 2-3 clarification rounds). Once you calibrate a project, output tokens get a project-specific curve applied. Every number on the dashboard has a tooltip explaining its math.
Can I delete my account and data?+
Yes, at any time. The in-app Danger Zone (Integrate page) has a Delete Account button that cancels your Stripe subscription, wipes every table we hold for you, and deletes your authentication record. Residual backup copies are overwritten within 30 days. See the Privacy Policy for retention specifics.
Do PAYG credits expire?+
No. Buy a pack of 30, 50, or 100 credits and use them whenever. Credits never expire.
Is there a refund policy?+
Paid subscription periods that have already begun are non-refundable. PAYG credits are non-refundable but also never expire. You can cancel your subscription anytime and your plan stays active through the end of the paid period.
Do you offer a self-hosted or enterprise plan?+
